Assignments are tiring and take up a lot of your time as both a student and a teen who just needs to relax. Trust me, I know, throughout this year, 7th Grade has practically been the most challenging year for me.
But I’ve been managing it all, school, sports, extra curricular activities, family and events. The best method could be keeping track of your work or going over the assignment in class with your teacher. If you don’t understand the assignment, your teacher is your biggest resource so ask for help. Whenever I’m struggling on an assignment I ask for help, it helps relieve stress so you don’t end up spending hours on it. Another strategy could be tracking time, I suggest not touching your homework once you're out of school. Instead, take a fifteen-thirty minute break, this helps you, yourself from getting overwhelmed. Possibly take a shower, eat a snack or go on your phone to relax before you begin working. While you're working on your homework, work for thirty minutes then take a five minute break. Work in time sections and do one assignment at a time. One subject at a time and one task at a time. Don’t try scrunching up all your work for a few minutes, it’ll just cause chaos and disorganization within your work. As my last advice, try working with other students or friends. Not only with this boost your motivation to work, but ideas could be shared and engagement is a main factor within your learning. Working with others is one of my favorite and best methods, it keeps me in company yet is also helpful in a sense where you can enjoy working! Overall, chill and take a break at times. There’s got to be balance between your school life and at home life, find that balance and use it to your advantage. It’s better to start making habits now that will support your future later on. Have a great week! -Kirsten G <3

It's interesting to me that you mention taking a break and getting on your phone before starting your homework after school. I say this because for me once I get on my phone - I stay on it way longer than I wanted to and then either don't get my task done or stay up longer.
