![]() The idea of Feminism was created around the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century. Many think Feminism is a method on targeting men (who have human rights) and putting them down. This concept however, is inaccurate. Feminism is the belief of Women being equal to men. Feminism was never intended to put down other genders but rather trying to support Women in receiving Human Rights. As it being Women’s History Month, I had the opportunity a few weeks ago to present a poem towards the school. It was an exciting experience as I had never shared my own opinion physically. I dearly dedicated that poem to my best friends, Nevaeh Cardoza, Jazmine Recinos, Alyson Master and Zaylee Ballesteros. They were my clear inspiration into creating the poem and had been supporting me. I am so grateful to have such passionate friends about this topic. And I hope many people do as well. It’s not just about Human Rights but about the way young girls and Women get treated as well. And the concept of Feminism is what many of these people stand for because it’s what we want and what we deserve in the end really. All that matters is your voice, and your choice to stand up. -Kirsten G
