The Guide to Middle School: Food

12/8/2021

Okay, so like… Middle School sucks. Sure, you get to see your friends and hang out with them but other than that… It sucks. Like it genuinely does.

The food, assignments, teachers (no offense) and drama… Everything about Middle School just screams torture. So this week (and in the following weeks ahead), I’ve decided to create a short series of guides on how to Survive Middle School.

There were multiple requests to write about the food and water in our school. In which I’ve agreed to write about. Many people have complained about the water and currently, Mrs Avina's Ecology class is working to see if the water is purified and clean. I haven’t used fountain water often due to the hypothesis that the water here may not be clean. Most of the time I’ll bring my own bottled water.

As for the cafeteria food I haven’t even gone in the lunch line at ALL this year because of my trauma from the past years. In my opinion, I’ve never enjoyed the cafeteria food. Sometimes the food isn’t fully warmed up, leaving cold icy parts in the food. Other times my macaroni would be hard and I wouldn’t be able to eat it without my teeth aching. I think many of you students would agree with my experiences.

It’s a difficult topic to side on though, if I’m being honest. The topic seems way too far-fetched considering the fact that it’s hard to believe that our school would give unclean water and uncooked food.

Our school is considered a ‘top school’ or a well-known one for having a great reputation. But it’s not healthy for students to be given horrid food and learn as well. If students can’t have food that is healthy or pleasing, how do you expect us to learn and do well in our studies?

How do they
expect us to be on top if we can’t even have simple needs?

What do you think about this topic and what is your opinion on it?

Take care!

I agree middle school sucks. And the food and water icky. This is why I bring my water bottle every day.

I would like to fully agree with all these statements. I usually don't eat the food form school due to me not being not hungry at the time and I don't eat more than 2 meals per day, but very few of the food is pretty good.
